Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 10
This chapter contains many sayings about wisdom and foolishness. One example is v.10: “If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success.”
This verse says that wisdom is like sharpening an ax. A sharp ax makes cutting wood much more efficient and productive than a dull ax. As Christians, one goal we have in life is to lead our family and friends to Christ. Let’s seek God’s wisdom so that our sickle is sharp, and we can reap a rich harvest of souls!
Devotion 2 of 2: John 10
This chapter is known as the “Good Shepherd” chapter. In v.10, Jesus describes Satan as a thief who tries to steal, kill and destroy the sheep. But Jesus is the Good Shepherd who came to give us abundant life!
Parables, symbols, types and shadows can often represent 2 opposite things! For example, a thief can be used to represent Satan, but it can also represent Jesus returning to earth in the endtime! Rev 3:3; 16:5 say, “I will come like a thief!” 1 Thes 5:2 and 2 Pet 3:10 say, “The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night!” Let’s understand Bible parables!
