Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 80
This psalm is clearly a restoration psalm! 3 times the verse, “Restore us, O God; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!” is repeated in v.3, 7 and 19! So, this psalm fits in perfectly with Ps 79, which showed Israel in a broken-down state, with its temple and capital city, Jerusalem, destroyed!
Israel is described in v.8-13 as a vine, brought out of Egypt, planted in Canaan and growing into mighty cedars. But her hedges were broken down and wild beasts devoured it. Asaph’s prayers in v.14-19 are the key to her restoration! Let’s pray for the restoration of Japan’s churches, too!

この詩篇は明らかに回復の詩篇である。「神よ、私たちを元どおりにしてください。御顔を照り輝かせてください。そうすれば、私たちは救われます」という節が、3節、7節、19節で3回繰り返されている。したがって、この詩篇は、神殿と首都エルサレムが破壊され、打ち砕かれたイスラエルの状態を示した詩篇79篇と完全にかみ合っている。
8–13節において、イスラエルはエジプトから連れ出され、カナンに植えられ、力強い杉の木のように成長した植物として描かれている。しかし、その垣根は取り壊され、野の獣がそれを食い荒らした。14–19節のアサフの祈りは、イスラエルの回復のための鍵である。日本の教会の回復のためにも祈ろうではないか。
Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Tim 4
V.1 says, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons…” There will be many reasons for believers apostatizing from Christianity, but I believe the main one will be because of the pre-trib rapture teaching, which I wrote about before.
The descriptions in v.1-3 are very strong against the teachings that will draw believers away from Christ, like, hypocrisy, conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, abstaining from foods, etc. Let’s not be deceived by false teachings!
デボーション2/2：1テモ4章
1節には、「しかし、御霊は明らかに言われる。後の時代になると、ある人たちは惑わす霊と悪霊の教えとに気をとられ、信仰から離れるようになる」とある。信者がキリスト教から棄教する理由は数多く存在するであろうが、私は、以前にも書き記した「携挙＝患難前説」の教えがその最大の要因になると信じている。
1–3節の記述は、偽善、焼き印を押されたような良心、結婚を禁じること、食物を断つことなど、信者をキリストから引き離す教えに対して非常に厳しいものとなっている。私たちは偽りの教えに惑わされないようにしよう。
