Devotion 1 of 2: Lev 26
This chapter has the pattern of 1) Blessings, 2) Curses and 3) Restoration! 1) v.1-13 are promises of Blessings for obedience, 2) v.14-39 are warnings of curses for disobedience, and 3) v.40-46 are promises of restoration for repentance.
Church history follows this same pattern. 1) Blessings: Early church revival and expansion (30-300 AD), 2) Curses: Compromise and Dark Ages church (300-1500 AD), and 3) Restoration: Protestant, Pentecostal and LDR Movements (1500-20??). Let’s press forward in the endtime for a glorious climax of world-wide revival!

In this chapter Paul testifies to his 3rd ruler, King (Herod) Agrippa (the Second). Here are the 5 King Herods in the NT: 1) Herod the Great (H1): Rebuilt the Jerusalem Temple. Massacred babies around Bethlehem (Matt 2). 2) Herod Archelaus: Son of H1. Was cruel so Joseph and Mary avoided and lived in Nazareth (Matt 2:22).
3) Herod Antipas: Son of H1. Executed John the Baptist and tried Jesus. 4) Herod Agrippa I: Grandson of H1. Executed James in Acts 12. Struck dead by angel. 5) Herod Agrippa II: Son of Agrippa I. Tried Paul.
