Devotion 1 of 3: Lev 10
This chapter contains the tragedy of Nadab and Abihu being struck down by fire from the Lord for offering incense which God had not ordered (v.1). Nadab was Aaron’s firstborn son, so he, too, was added to the long list of firstborn sons who lost their firstborn status and blessing.
We are called to be the Church of the Firstborn (Heb 12:23), but God is warning us to not despise our calling, but to be diligent to fulfill our calling so we can inherit the double portion anointing and power of the early church!

Devotion 2 of 3: Acts 10
This chapter tells the dramatic story of how Peter was told by God through a vision to go to a Gentile, Cornelius’ house, and lead the Gentiles there to salvation. Thus, the vision Peter saw (v.9-16) was perhaps the most influential vision in church history! It helped to transform the church from a Jews-only body to a body open to all races!

Devotion 3 of 3: Lev 23
We are reading Lev 23 about the feasts of Israel because the feasts are intertwined with the crucifixion. The Jewish day begins at 6PM, thus Passover begins from 6PM on Wed and continues to 6PM Thu. The Passover lamb was killed and Jesus was crucified between 9AM to 3PM on Thu. It was the 14th day of the 1st month (v.5).
Friday the 15th was the 1st day of Unleavened Bread, which was a rest day (v.7). That’s why Jesus’ body had to be buried before 6PM, not because it was a Sat. Let’s thank Jesus for dying for us today!

レビ23章でイスラエルの祭りについて読んでいるのは祭りが十字架と深く結びついているためです。ユダヤ暦では1日は午後6時に始まります。したがって、過越祭は水曜日の午後6時から始まり、木曜日の午後6時まで続きます。小羊が屠られ、イエスが十字架につけられたのは木曜日の午前9時から午後3時の間でした。それは1月の14日目でした（5節）。
15日の金曜日は種なしパンの祭りの初日で、安息日でした（7節）。イエスの遺体が午後6時前に埋葬されなければならなかったのは、そのためであって、土曜日だったからではありません。今日（午後6時以降）、私たちのために死んでくださったイエスに感謝しましょう！
