Devotion 1 of 2: Amos 1
Amos prophesied around 760-755 BC in northern Israel. Five years is a short time compared to other prophets. He was a shepherd (v.1) before God called and used him for a specific time and purpose. In this way, Amos was a model to the LDC.
In the endtime, many believers will be working in companies, but when the LDR begins, they will be called to become cell leaders, evangelists, pastors or missionaries for a set time—3.5 years—because there will be so many people getting saved that many believers will have to go into full-time ministry!
Amos prophesied judgment upon Damascus (Syria), Gaza (Philistines), Tyre, Edom and Ammon in this chapter. The LDC will also be called by God to bring judgment against those who oppose the gospel and the LDR as evidenced by the 2 witnesses sending fire upon their enemies in Rev 11:5! Let’s learn through Amos.
Devotion 2 of 2: John 15
V.5 says, ““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” All Christians want to bear much fruit; we want to lead many people to Christ and eternal life in heaven! V.5 tells us how we can bear fruit. God ‘s plan is to fulfill this during the LDR.
In the LDR, we will spiritually experience 2 feasts: the Day of Atonement (DOA) and the Feast of Tabernacles (FOT). In the DOA, the church will enter the Holy of Holies, the very presence of God. In this way, we will fulfill v.5. We will remain, or abide, in Jesus and He in us!
As a result, Jesus promised we would bear much fruit! That will be the fulfillment of the FOT because the FOT was the celebration of the grape harvest. The spiritual grape harvest in the endtime will be the greatest ingathering of souls in history as seen in Rev 7:9-14! Let’s pray for it and prepare ourselves to be laborers in that harvest!
