Devotion 1 of 2: Hos 3
In this chapter Hosea looks for Gomer, finds her being sold and buys her back to himself (redeems her) (v.1-2)! This is a graphic picture of what redemption, or buying back, is! This is what Jesus did for us when He went to the cross!
When I was a new Christian and had just received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I heard a message through an old reel tape recorder. It was about Hosea and Gomer and how much Jesus loved us. As I was listening, the Spirit gripped my heart and made Jesus’ love so real to me that I began to weep and weep and couldn’t stop!
I want Jesus’ love to fill me like that every day so that His love will pour out through me and touch all those around me. Lord, may the Japanese people feel Your love and open their hearts to accept You!

この章でホセアはゴメルを探し、売られているのを見つけ、彼女を買い戻します（贖う）（1-2節）。これは贖い、つまり買い戻すことの真髄を鮮やかに描いたものです。イエス様が十字架に架かられた時、まさに私たちのためにしてくださったことなのです。
私がまだクリスチャンになりたてで、聖霊のバプテスマを受けたばかりの頃、古いリール式テープレコーダーからあるメッセージを聞きました。それはホセアとゴメルについて、そしてイエス様がどれほど私たちを愛してくださっているかについてのメッセージでした。聞いていると、聖霊が私の心を掴み、イエス様の愛が私にとってあまりにも現実のものとなり、私は泣き続け、止まることができませんでした。
イエス様の愛が毎日私を満たし、私を通して溢れ、周りの人々に触れることができるように願っています。主よ、日本の人々があなたの愛を感じ、心を開いてあなたを受け入れることができますように。
Devotion 2 of 2: John 3
V.8 says, “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” We cannot control the Holy Spirit. He is like the wind and goes wherever He wants to go! We must understand this and submit to, not try to control, the Spirit!
A good example of this is the vessel the Spirit chose to bring forth the Pentecostal Revival on earth. William Seymour was an African American preacher, the son of former slaves. Seymour grew up in poverty, was blind in one eye, wasn’t well educated and lived during the Jim Crow, or racially segregated era of the U.S.
Yet, he was the one the Holy Spirit anointed to spark the Pentecostal Movement that has grown to about 700M people around the world! Yes, the wind will blow wherever it pleases! Let’s learn to flow with the Spirit!

8節には、「風はその思いのままに吹き、あなたはその音を聞くが、それがどこから来てどこへ行くかを知らない。御霊によって生まれる者もみな、そのとおりです。」とあります。私たちは聖霊をコントロールすることはできません。聖霊は風のように、行きたいところに行くのです。私たちはこのことを理解し、聖霊をコントロールしようとするのではなく、従わなければなりません。
その良い例は、聖霊が地上にペンテコステ派のリバイバルをもたらすために選ばれた器です。ウィリアム・シーモアは、かつて奴隷だった両親を持つアフリカ系アメリカ人の説教者でした。シーモアは貧困の中で育ち、片目が見えず、十分な教育を受けておらず、アメリカのジム・クロウ法、つまり人種差別の時代に生きていました。
しかし、彼は聖霊に選ばれ、ペンテコステ運動の火付け役となりました。この運動は今や世界中に約7億人の人々へと成長しました。そうです、風は思いのままに吹くのです！聖霊と共に流れることを学びましょう！
