Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 4
V.9-12 say, “2 are better than 1... For if they fall, 1 will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if 2 lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can 1 be warm alone? Though 1 may be overpowered by another, 2 can withstand him. And a 3-fold cord is not quickly broken.”
This famous passage is often read at weddings. Because Yoshiko is battling sickness now, these verses have become more precious to me. I’m thankful for the opportunity to talk with Yoshiko before we die. If we died in a sudden accident, I wouldn’t have this chance.
I repeatedly tell her that our wedding day was the happiest day in my life. I have thanked her many times for saying, “Yes,” to my proposal. She left her stewardess job at JAL, which she loved, to marry me. I also tell her if I could live my life over again, I want to start from our wedding day. I thank God every day for bringing us together.

9-12節には、「ふたりはひとりよりもまさっている。 どちらかが倒れるとき、ひとりがその仲間を起こす。倒れても起こす者のいないひとりぼっちの人はかわいそうだ。 また、ふたりがいっしょに寝ると暖かいが、ひとりでは、どうして暖かくなろう。 もしひとりなら、打ち負かされても、ふたりなら立ち向かえる。三つ撚りの糸は簡単には切れない。」とあります。
この有名な箇所は結婚式でよく読まれます。よし子が闘病中なので、この御言葉は私にとってさらに貴重なものになりました。死ぬ前によし子と話す機会を得られたことに感謝しています。もし突然の事故で死んでいたら、この機会はなかったでしょう。
結婚した日は私の人生で一番幸せな日だったと、何度もよし子に伝えています。私のプロポーズに「イエス」と言ってくれたことに、何度も感謝しました。彼女は私と結婚するために、大好きだった日本航空のスチュワーデスの仕事を辞めてくれました。もう一度人生をやり直せるなら、結婚式の日から始めたいと彼女によく言います。私たちを結びつけてくださった神様に、毎日感謝しています。
Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 4
I believe v.7-10 apply to us now, but I believe they have even more significance for the endtime. Let’s look at v.7, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” I believe this treasure in us, which is the full excellence of God’s power, will be fully revealed during the LDR!
Now let’s examine v.8-10: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
When will the LDR happen? When will we be transformed into the LDC? When we begin to be persecuted by AC! Because when we die in Christ, then the life of Jesus will be manifested powerfully through us!

7-10節は今にも当てはまりますが、終末にもっと適用されると信じます。7節は言う、「私たちは、この宝を、土の器の中に入れているのです。それは、この測り知れない力が神のものであって、私たちから出たものでないことが明らかにされるためです。」私たちの中にある宝、すなわち神の測り知れない力は、終末リバイバルの時にこそ、明らかにされるでしょう。
次は、8-10節です。「私たちは、四方八方から苦しめられますが、窮することはありません。途方にくれていますが、行きづまることはありません。迫害されていますが、見捨てられることはありません。倒されますが、滅びません。いつでもイエスの死をこの身に帯びていますが、それは、イエスのいのちが私たちの身において明らかに示されるためです。」
終末リバイバルはいつ起こるのでしょうか？いつ私たちは終末教会に変えられるのでしょうか？反キによって迫害され始める時です！なぜなら、私たちがキリストにあって死ぬ時、イエスの命が私たちを通して力強く現れるからです！
