Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 41
This chapter continues the description of the temple sanctuary, including its dimensions (v.1-4), side chambers (v.5-11), building on the western end (v.12), and dimensions and design of the temple area (v.13-26).
This temple was for the future Millennium, giving the Jews hope that they would be restored from exile in Babylon, and the Lord would be in their midst. Let us never stop praying for Israel’s restoration and salvation!
Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Cor 13
This is the love chapter of the Bible. Many wedding ceremonies use these Scriptures to teach on the importance of love in marriage.
Some evangelical churches use v.8-10 to teach that prophecies, speaking in tongues and miracles have ceased. They say that in early Christianity those things were needed, but when that which is perfect has come (v.10), which they interpret to mean the 66 books of the Bible were compiled and completed, then that which was in part (miracles, tongues, etc.), will be done away.
However, this interpretation is wrong because in v.9, it says knowledge is also in part. So, if prophecy, tongues and miracles are done away, then knowledge also must be done away, but knowledge is still continuing! Let’s always seek the true meaning of the Bible!
