Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 16

This chapter is a strong rebuke and judgment against Judah for her harlotry, which was worshiping the idols of the pagan nations around her (v.23-30). The language used is very strong, the same as language used for adultery in marriage (v.31-34), and shows the Lord’s anger against His people for their betrayal (v.46).
V.3 says your father was an Amorite and mother a Hittite. This refers to Judah’s land, in which the Amorites and Hittites lived before the Jews defeated them and made it their own (Num 13:29).
Let’s seek the Lord and covenant to be faithful to Him alone and not allow anything in the world to become an idol in our hearts! And, of course, let’s never worship AC’s image, even if threatened by death!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 16

The Pharisees and Sadducees sought a sign from Jesus, but they were not sincere (v.1). We know that because Jesus gave them the sign of Jonah (v.4), who was in the fish for 3 days and nights before being vomited out and preaching a revival in Nineveh.
But when Jesus fulfilled that sign by resurrecting after 3 days buried in the earth, they didn’t accept it and, instead, tried to cover the truth with a lie that Jesus didn’t rise, but that His disciples stole His body (28:11-13)!
Likewise, we also will be questioned by both Christians and unbelievers about the LDR, the miracles that Jesus will do through us, etc. Let’s be able to discern the sincere from the insincere, the honest from the liars, the truth from the deception!
