Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 6

This chapter describes God’s judgment on Israel for her idolatries. God says Israel’s high places and incense altars will be destroyed and her people killed before their idols (v.3-6). As a result of judgment, v.7 says that Israel would know that God is the Lord.
Israel went through this cycle of serving God and being blessed; then worshiping idols and being oppressed by enemies; then repenting and overcoming the enemy; then once more, serving God and being blessed; etc. for hundreds of years.
The church has also gone through a similar cycle of repentance, revival, organization; compromise; repentance; etc. Each revival circle has produced new enlightenment, new denominations, progress to the church becoming fully restored. This process is nearing the end of complete restoration! Let’s seek and pray for that!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 6

This is the 2nd chapter covering the Sermon on the Mount. I want to examine v.12, 14-15 more closely. After teaching the Lord’s Prayer to His disciples, Jesus immediately gave more instructions about forgiveness, demonstrating how important this theme was.
Jesus taught that if we forgive others, God will forgive us, but if we don’t, God won’t forgive us, either! This is a very important fact for us to grasp, and is a foundational truth that applies to all human relationships!
I heard the testimony of 2 men who died, met God, and returned. Both testified of the high priority God places on forgiveness! One had to forgive the gang who killed him! The other had to forgive 2 men who refused to help him get to the hospital when he was dying! Both said it’s true! If we don’t forgive, God won’t forgive us!
