Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Kings 13
This chapter contains the tragic story of the man of God who received 2 tests: 1 from a king and 1 from an old prophet. He passed the king’s test successfully (v.7-9), but was deceived by the 2nd test and died as a result (v.15-24)! God had commanded him not to eat in Bethel, but he was tricked into disobeying God!
Endtime application: God is training Christians by sending us a king (president) who is testing us. 80% of Evangelical Christians in the U.S. voted for him because of his support for Israel and his stance against LGBTQ and abortion rights. We should respect his stance, but we must also demand moral character.
It was good that he became president because now we can see clearly what kind of leader he is. He does not obey the law and does not recognize facts but constantly speaks lies, causing chaos in the U.S. and the world.
Let’s learn so we won’t be deceived by AC, who will be much more deceitful and dangerous!

この章には、二つのテストを受けた神の人の悲劇的な物語が記されています。一つは王から、もう一つは老預言者からでした。彼は王の試練には見事合格しましたが（7-9節）、二つ目の試練に騙され、その結果死んでしまいました（15-24節）。神はベテルで食事をしてはならないと命じていましたが、彼は騙されて神に背いてしまったのです。
終末への適用：神は、私たちを試す王（大統領）を送ることで、クリスチャンを訓練しておられます。アメリカの福音派クリスチャンの80%が、イスラエルへの支持、LGBTQや中絶の権利に反対する姿勢から彼に投票しました。私たちは彼の姿勢を尊重すべきですが、同時に道徳的な人格も求めなければなりません。
彼が大統領になったのは良いことです。なぜなら、彼がどのような指導者であるかが今、はっきりとわかるようになったからです。彼は法律を守らず、事実を認識せず、常に嘘をつき、アメリカと世界に混乱を引き起こしています。
もっともっと狡猾で危険な反キに騙されないように彼を通して学んでいきましょう！
Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Kings 14
This chapter describes the wicked reigns of Jeroboam in northern Israel and Rehoboam in southern Judah. Wooden images to heathen gods spread in both kingdoms (v.15, 23), and there was constant war between them (v.30).
The curse of Jeroboam’s reign affected all the kings of northern Israel, as there was not even one king who could be called good! Jeroboam paid the price for his evil as Ahijah the prophet prophesied that his house would eventually be completely exterminated (v.6-11)!
The lack of revival fire caused both north and south Israel to eventually stray so far away from God that the Lord gave them up to captivity to cleanse the land of their sins. The northern kingdom never recovered from their Assyrian captivity, but the southern kingdom was able to return from Babylon and produce the Messiah for man’s salvation!

この章は、北イスラエルにおけるヤロブアムと南ユダにおけるレハブアムの邪悪な統治について述べています。異教の神を祀るアシュラ像が両王国に広まり（15節、23節）、両王国の間には絶え間ない戦争が起こりました（30節）。
ヤロブアムの統治の呪いは北イスラエルのすべての王に及び、善と呼べる王は一人もいませんでした。ヤロブアムは悪の代償を払い、預言者アヒヤはヤロブアムの家系が最終的に完全に滅ぼされると預言しました（6-11節）。
リバイバルの火が消えたため、南北イスラエルは神から大きく離れ、主は彼らの罪をその地から清めるために彼らを捕囚の身に引き渡しました。北王国はアッシリアの捕囚から立ち直ることはありませんでしたが、南王国はバビロンから帰還し、人類の救いのためにメシアをもたらすことができました。
