Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 121
V.3b-4 say this: “He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” I think Israel wondered if God had been asleep when Babylon attacked Jerusalem, destroyed their temple and took them as captives in 586 BC!
But He was not! He knew exactly what was happening to them! In fact, He was the One who orchestrated their captivity! Yes, God let Babylon destroy Judah for the purpose of cleansing Judah of her horrible sins of idolatry, fornication and children sacrifices! So, the Babylonian Captivity was actually good for Judah! They returned 70 years later, a humble and purified people! Yes, God was watching and keeping Israel, in His way!
I read about a family who bought a dog. But soon after, they had their first child, a beautiful baby girl. They debated about whether they should keep the dog or not, fearing it may harm the child. But one night, a man sneaked into their house to steal their baby! Their dog, always alert at night, heard sounds from the baby’s room and ran there. When he saw the intruder, he barked loudly and jumped on the man, pushing him down and holding him until the parents could wake up and apprehend him!
The dog saved that family from the tragedy of losing their baby! How happy they were that they had kept the dog and that it kept watch over the baby at night! If a dog can protect a family because of love and loyalty, how much more can our God keep watch over us!

3b-4節はこう言っています。「あなたを守る方は、まどろむこともない。見よ。イスラエルを守る方は、まどろむこともなく、眠ることもない。」 紀元前586年にバビロンがエルサレムを攻撃し、神殿を破壊してイスラエルを捕虜にしたとき、神は眠っていたのだろうかとイスラエルは思ったと思います。
しかし、神は眠っていませんでした。神は彼らに何が起こっているのかを正確に知っていました。実際、彼らの捕囚を画策したのは神でした。そうです、神はユダの偶像崇拝、淫行、子供のいけにえという恐ろしい罪を清めるために、バビロンにユダを滅ぼさせました。ですから、バビロン捕囚は実際にはユダにとって良いことでした。彼らは70年後、謙虚で清められた民として戻ってきました。そうです、神はイスラエルを神の方法で見守り、守っていました。

MARK 2: Free sharing!
I like v.1-2, which say, “And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.”
A similar verse is found in 1:32-34, “At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.”
I believe these are pictures of what will happen in the LDR, when John 14:12 is fulfilled. There will be millions of on-fire Christians doing Jesus’ works all over the world, and the result will be what these verses tell us: “Many gathered together so that there was no long room!” And, “The whole city was gathered together at the door!”
Homes where believers are witnessing and doing healing will be filled to overflowing! Churches will have to hold multiple services to accommodate all the people because Jesus’ presence will set people free from pain and suffering! The teaching of the Word will be anointed, and new-born believers will be grounded in the Scriptures and grow into disciples of Christ.
Let this vision of the LDR burn in our hearts as we read Mark! Let’s seek Jesus to work through us!

マルコ2: 自由に分かち合いましょう！
私は1-2節が好きです。「数日たって、イエスがカペナウムにまた来られると、家におられることが知れ渡った。それで多くの人が集まったため、戸口のところまですきまもないほどになった。」
同様の節が1:32-34にあります。「夕方になった。日が沈むと、人々は病人や悪霊につかれた人をみな、イエスのもとに連れて来た。こうして町中の者が戸口に集まって来た。イエスは、さまざまの病気にかかっている多くの人をいやし、また多くの悪霊を追い出された。そして悪霊どもがものを言うのをお許しにならなかった。彼らがイエスをよく知っていたからである。」
これらは、ヨハネ14:12が成就する終末リバイバルで起こることを表していると私は信じています。世界中で何百万もの熱心なクリスチャンがイエスの業を行えば、その結果はこれらの聖句が語っている通りになるでしょう。「多くの人が集まったため、戸口のところまですきまもないほどになった！」そして「町中の者が戸口に集まって来た！」
信者が証しし、癒しを行っている家は溢れんばかりに満たされるでしょう！教会はすべての人々を収容するために複数の礼拝を開かなければならないでしょう！なぜならイエスの臨在が人々を痛みと苦しみから解放するからです！御言葉の教えは油注がれ、新しく生まれた信者は聖書に根ざし、キリストの弟子へと成長します。
マルコを読むとき、この終末リバイバルのビジョンを心に燃やしましょう！私たちを通してイエスが働くように求めましょう！
