1 SAM 21: Free sharing!
In v.1-9, David visits Ahimelech the priest at Nob, telling him that he was there because King Saul had sent him on secret business. But it was a lie, because at that time, David was actually running away from Saul! The reason for David’s visit was to get some food, which he was able to do.
Appl: Was David’s lie justified? It is complicated because he was starving and needed food. But his visit resulted in a tragedy with 85 priests plus their families being killed (1 Sam 22:18-19).
In the endtime, when the LDC cannot buy food because we don’t take the mark of the beast (Rev 13:16-17), we will need wisdom in deciding where we get food from. If possible, we don’t want to endanger the lives of people who help us with food. When we face this situation, let’s remember this story!

1サム21章： 自由に分かち合いましょう！
1-9節で、ダビデはノブの祭司アヒメレクを訪ね、サウル王が秘密の用事で彼を遣わしたのでここに来たと告げます。しかし、それは嘘でした。なぜなら、その時ダビデはサウルから逃げていたからです！ダビデが訪れた理由は、食料を手に入れるためでした。そして、それはできました。

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Sam 22
In v.1-5, we see the start of David’s army as 400 men gather around him. At the beginning, they look like the failures of Israeli society because they were in distress, in debt and discontented (v.2). But they were transformed into David’s mighty men of 2 Sam 23:8-23; one of whom killed 800 enemy warriors at one time!
Appl: David’s army is a type of the LDC. We also have gathered around Jesus, who is our David, with various problems and needs. In Japan the church is seen as small and weak. But God is restoring His church! David’s men are our example of how we can be transformed by walking and fellowshipping with Jesus every day, and receiving training from Him! Let’s believe He will transform us into His mighty army of the endtime!
