Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 21
This chapter shows proclamations against 3 nations: Babylon (v.1-10), Edom (v.11-12) and Arabia (v.13-17). Scholars say “Dumah” in v.11 was an ancient name for Edom.
“Wilderness of the Sea” in v.1 refers to Babylon because the city was located on a great plain with many lakes and marshes. About 100 years after Isaiah, Babylon became a great empire and conquered Judah. But less than 50 years later, they would be destroyed by the Medes (v.2) and Persians. This defeat is what Isaiah is prophesying here. “Babylon has fallen, has fallen” (v.9, Rev 14:8) has a double application to the Babylon in Rev 14-19, which represents the world empire of AC and the false prophet.
The Bible is amazing as God’s Word, foretelling events 2,700+ years in the future of what will happen to AC’s empire when God judges it! Let’s believe God's Word and never be deceived by AC!

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 21
*1-4. The rich gave out of their abundance, but the widow gave all she had. In the LD, we must not hold on to money! It will lead to our compromising to AC, taking his mark and continuing to buy and sell! God will supply without the mark!
*8. Deceit will be rampant. It’s happening now. AI technology will only worsen it! Let’s learn to discern what is true and what is false, fake news, misinformation, disinformation, lies, not-to-be-trusted talk, etc.!
*12-19. AC will accuse us of causing much trouble and make the world hate us. But it will be our chance to witness to rulers! The Spirit will inspire our words, and the enemy won’t be able to resist!
*16. We will be betrayed by family members! How and why? One possibility is: AC will threaten to kill all family members if even one doesn’t have the mark or doesn’t worship his image. So unbelieving member might betray his/her family to save own life!
