Devotion 1 of 2: Num 25
NUM 25: Answers!
1) Israel was seduced into committing harlotry with Moab and worshiping their god, Baal. This caused a plague among the Israelites, so God told the leaders to execute the idolaters. Phinehas, a priest, thrust a javelin through a man and a Midianite woman, which finally ended the plague. 24,000 were killed by the plague (v.1-9). .
2) After a victory or a blessing, if we let down our guard, Satan will lure us into sin. One of the strongest temptations is committing sexual sin, which many people both in and out of the church have done. So let’s always keep our eyes on Jesus and walk close to him!

Devotion 2 of 2: Num 26
This chapter tells about the 2nd census of Israel. When we compare the totals of the 1st and 2nd censuses, we see 1,820 less men! This shows that Israel’s various sins of unbelief, grumbling, rebellion, criticism, etc. stopped their growth as a nation and actually led to a loss in numbers.
This generally applies to the church, too! When we walk in obedience to God, he will bless our numbers, and when we don’t, our numbers will diminish. Let’s seek him more so we can walk in obedience to him!
