Devotion 1 of 1: Job 23

During his long trial, Job complains a lot, but sometimes he remembers his faith in a loving God and speaks positive words! This chapter is such a time. His words in v.10 are a model for all of us who have gone through trials that we couldn’t understand: “When he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold!” I want to confess this whenever I go through trials I don’t understand!

MATT 23 answers:
1) Jesus’ condemnations were based on facts, what Jesus had seen and heard; Job’s friends’ condemnations were based on their assumptions, imaginations, and reasoning. (Job is suffering so he must have sinned, and God is punishing him. But the problem was that this reasoning was wrong!)
2) At the 2nd coming, when Jesus will come to rescue the Jews from AC’s army (Zech 12:9-13:9).
