Devotion 1 of 2: Rev 9

The 5th trumpet caused a star to fall and open a pit, out of which came smoke and fire (v.1-2). This may be speaking of nuclear or biological weapons. The smoke was like radioactive or poisonous gas that didn’t harm plants but tortured humans (v.3-6). It may be that v.7-10 are describing missiles.
The 6th trumpet released 4 angels from the Euphrates River who killed 1/3 of mankind (v.13-15)! The only way for such a disaster to happen would be through a nuclear war! Once more, missiles and other modern weapons are likely described in v.17-19. Sadly, those who survived this calamity did not repent of their sins and seek God (v.20-21)!
Let us actively witness to many to save them from the coming destruction and possible nuclear war that will happen during the tribulation! If we follow Jesus, he will rapture us in the middle of the tribulation, before the calamities of T2!

Devotion 2 of 2: Zech 5

The 1st vision was of a scroll, which represented a curse (v.3). The reason for the curse was because of many thieves and perjurers (v.3) in the land. Thieves symbolized breaking the 2nd commandment of loving your neighbor because if you stole from your neighbor you didn’t love him. Perjurers symbolized breaking the 1st commandment of loving God because swearing falsely by God’s name (v.4) showed you didn’t love God. The purpose of this illustration was to show that Judah was breaking all of God’s commandments, which were summarized by the 2 major commandments! So he sent a curse into their houses (v.4) and declared he would expel them from the land! Let us, too, avoid breaking God’s commandments or it will stop us from entering the Promised Land of revival in the last days!
