Devotion 1 of 2: Rev 8
T2 begins here. Rev 6:12-17 talks about T2, but close scrutiny shows it was only a preview, not the actual happening of T2. Why can we say that? Because Rev 7:3 shows T2 will not start until the 144,000 Jews have been sealed, which happened in 7:8. And I believe 7:9-17 is about the multitudes saved in the great revival of T1! SoT2 begins in Rev 8. 4 trumpets are blown, and terrible calamities happen. Here is a summary:
1st trumpet (tr): 1/3 of trees and grass burn up (v.7).
2nd tr: Sea turns to blood; 1/3 of fish die and ships destroyed (v.8-9).
3rd tr: 1/3 of rivers, springs and waters become bitter; many die (v.10-11).
4th tr: 1/3 of sun, moon and stars darkened (v.12).
T2 will be hell on earth. I believe God will rapture the church in the middle of the tribulation, before T2 begins. I believe that’s what 11:12 reveals. Let’s pray we will grow mature and understand the solid food of Rev. teaching!

Devotion 2 of 2: Zech 4
Some people think the 2 olive trees of v.3 symbolize the prophets Haggai and Zechariah (Ezra 5:1), who stirred up the Jews to complete the restoration of the temple (5:2), or Zerubbabel and Joshua, who led the restoration work of the temple. And these people also believe the 2 olive trees of Zech 4 represent the 2 witnesses of Rev 11 because they also are called olive trees (Rev 11:4).
But I believe that the Rev 11 witnesses are not 2 individuals but the LDC, because 11:7 and 13:7 are talking about the same event. Also, more than Haggai, Zechariah, Joshua and Zerubbabel, they are characterized by Elijah and Moses, because their works are written in Rev 11:6. The LDC will be able to stop rain like Elijah and cause various plagues like Moses in order to save their countrymen from AC and lead them to revival!
