Devotion 1 of 2: Amos 6

There were people in northern Israel “who put far off the day of doom” (v.3). In other words, they did not want to recognize that Israel could be invaded and defeated because they wanted to continue living a life of ease (v.1) and luxury (v.4-6)! This is similar to today’s situation. Many Christians don’t want to recognize they may face AC because they want to continue their present lifestyle, free from persecution. The Pretrib rapture teaching offers a wonderful protection from AC, so many believers embrace it. But about Israel, Amos prophesied that God would give up their cities (v.8) and they would go into captivity (v.7). Let us seek God fervently to understand about whether we will confront AC or not.

Devotion 2 of 2: John 20

1) The resurrection showed that Jesus could conquer death. This gives all who believe the hope that they, too, can overcome death and enter eternal life!
2) I believe Jesus ascended to the Father to thank him for raising him from the dead and to take his blood into the Most Holy Place in heaven (Heb 9:12, 21) to complete the redemption of mankind (Heb 9:24).
