Devotion 1 of 1: 2 Cor 13
In v.1, Paul says he will be visiting Corinth for the 3rd time and that by the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses every word shall be established! This principle of 2 or 3 witnesses establishing a truth is seen many times in Scripture. For example, in the story of Joseph, this principle can be seen by:
1) Joseph receiving 2 dreams of his calling as a ruler with his brothers bowing to him (Gen 37:5-11)
2) Joseph being tested 3 times by his brothers (37:28), Potiphar’s wife (39:11-20) and the butler (40:23)
3) Pharaoh seeing 2 dreams about the future (41:32)
4) Joseph’s brothers going to Egypt 2 times to buy grain and to bow down to Joseph (42:6; 43:26, 28)
