Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Cor 12

1) In Acts 14:19-20, when Paul was stoned. I believe that’s when he died and went to heaven!
2) A) I believe he heard things about Jesus written in Col 1:15-20, such as: He created all things, and all things were created for him, etc.

B) Also, he heard things recorded in Heb 1-9 that no other NT writer wrote about, like Melchizedek was a type of Jesus, had no parents, and no beginning or end (Heb 5:6)! What an amazing revelation! Where did Paul learn that? I think it was likely that he learned it when he went to heaven and “heard inexpressible words”! Why were they inexpressible? Because if he talked about his NDE, people would have thought he was mentally unstable! So he waited 14 years, before finally writing about it toward the end of his life, when his reputation was very solid so people accepted his NDE testimony!

Devotion 2 of 2: Eccl 12

I like the poetic way that Solomon uses to describe approaching death in v.3-7! He says things like: the keepers of the house tremble (legs become unsteady), strong men bow down (back bends forward), grinders cease because they are few (lose teeth), windows grow dim (eyes become weak), etc. I am experiencing that right now, but, unlike Solomon, as a believer in Jesus, I can rejoice that heaven is getting closer! PTL!
