Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Chron 18
This chapter describes David’s complete victories over the Philistines (v.1), Moab (v.2), Zobah-Hamath (v.3), Syria (v.5), Edom, Ammon, Amalek (v.11), and Edom (v.12). This became the Golden Age of Israel, in which justice and equality were administered (v.14). David’s Golden Kingdom is a picture of the LDC’s golden age of revival in the end time!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Chron 19
1) The advice was negative, full of suspicion about David’s motives, believing, not the goodness of David’s heart in his gesture of kindness, but imaginary and false evil to spy and eventually overthrow the throne of Hanun (v.2-3). So Hanun followed this advice, shaved David’s servants, cut their garments and sent them away in shame (v.4-5). But this angered David, and he sent his army to war, and they defeated Ammon and Syria, whom Ammon had hired to fight with him!
2) We will hear negative advice all the time, but we shouldn’t receive most of it. We should believe that almost all people are trying their best, and our calling from God is to try to help them to grow and improve.
