Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Kings 17
The reasons for the northern kingdom of Israel being destroyed are found in v.14-18. They despised God’s law and covenant and worshiped idols and offered their children as sacrifices! Israel was taken captive by Assyria (v.6) and never returned! They became the 10 lost tribes, scattered all over the world! When AC commands us to worship his image, let’s remember what happened to Israel and never compromise to idolatry!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Kings 18
After Assyria conquered Israel, she set her eyes on Judah. So the southern kingdom faced the greatest challenge in their history! Assyria was a world empire, and Judah was a small nation. It looked like certain defeat for the Jews! But God raised up a God-fearing king, Hezekiah, at the right time to lead Judah to a miraculous victory over Assyria in chapter 19! Like Hezekiah, we, too, are called to lead God’s people to victory over our enemy, AC, in the last days! Let’s rise up to our destiny, call upon Jesus to strengthen us, and meet the challenge!
