Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Kings 11

1) Athaliah became ruler by destroying the royal family and making herself queen. Joash became king by submitting to Jehoida, the High Priest, who protected him and made him king.
2) According to Rev 5:10, we are called to be kings and priests, but we cannot do it on our own strength. We must rely on our High Priest, Jesus, to teach and train us to make us kings!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Kings 12

Jehoash was a good king because he followed Jehoiada the High Priest’s instructions (v.2)! One of his greatest accomplishments was repairing the temple. He ordered it to be done (v.5), but this order wasn’t carried out for 23 years (v.6)! So he organized a better way to repair the temple, and it succeeded (v.7-12)! We are called to restore the church, but if it is not done, we should develop a better way to do it so that we can fulfill our calling!
