Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 32

God told Jeremiah to buy land in Jerusalem while the city was being besieged by Babylon (v.6-8). Jeremiah did it but didn’t understand why since Jerusalem would fall to Babylon (v.25). Actually, God had told him in v.14-15, but Jeremiah still didn’t quite get it! So God had to explain to him again in v.42-44. It was a prophetic sign that although Judah was destroyed, God would restore the Jews and their fortunes and they would be able to buy land again Like Jeremiah, we don’t understand God’s restoration plan because it’s so impossible to fathom! So we must seek God and eventually we will understand! Let’s seek God to understand restoration!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 4

1) He believed that God would give him descendants as numerous as the stars (Gen 15:4-6).
2) God’s promise was that Abraham and his offspring would be heirs of the world. Offspring has 2 meanings: the Jewish descendants of Abraham and those who have the same faith as Abraham (v.16) and who believe in Jesus as Savior (Gal 3:29). They are the spiritual descendants of Abraham. “Heirs of the world” means inheriting, owning, taking possession of the world! This promise will be ultimately fulfilled during the Millennium when overcoming believers will reign with Christ over the world (Rev 2:25-26). But I believe during the LDR (Last Day Revival), the LDC will inherit the world by preaching the gospel to the whole world, bringing revival to every nation and reaping hundreds of millions and even billions of souls into Christ’s kingdom! That’s what being heirs of the world means!
