Devotion 1 of 2: Mark 7
For Mark 7, you may share freely or answer one or more of these questions. 1) In v.24-30, a Greek woman asks Jesus to cast a demon out of her daughter, but Jesus seems to reject her request. Why?
2) But later, the demon is cast out! Why?
3) In v.32-34, Jesus healed a deaf man who had a speech impediment. How did Jesus heal him and why do you think he did it that way?
4) What do you think we can learn from these 2 healings so we can be a good John 14:12 worker?
Mark 7 answer: 1) Because he was sent to the Jews (Matt 15:24), but she was a Gentile.
2) Because: of her persistent faith; she didn’t give up; she didn’t stumble at Jesus; she turned the “negative” rejection from Jesus into a “positive” declaration!
3) Jesus put his fingers in his ears and spat and touched the man’s tongue! Because the Father told him to do it that way! (John 5:19)
4) LDC is called to reach every tribe (Rev 7:9), so we should want to save people of all races! Should follow the Holy Spirit’s leading when doing healing.

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 126
This psalm is an awesome prophecy of the captives (v.1) returning from Babylon about 400 years after this psalm was written! It’s also a prophecy of the praise (v.2) that has accompanied almost every revival movement through Christianity! One example is “A Mighty Fortress” which was the Reformation theme song. Another example is the worship led by Charles Wesley during the Wesleyan Holiness revival. And the most fitting example is the praise revival happening now as the church is being brought out from captivity and back into the Promised Land.
