Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 28
Yes, it did come to pass when Babylon besieged Jerusalem for 2.5 years in 589-587 BC! Babylon cut off all food supplies and starved the Jews until they ate their children who died of starvation (Lamentations 4:10). It was horrible.

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 12
I think v.17a “Do not repay anyone evil for evil” applies to me. There was a person who was very critical of me at church many years ago. I was very upset and thought and said bad things about him, too, “repaying evil for evil!” But God convicted me that I was doing the same thing that he was, so I repented of that attitude. After I stopped thinking or saying negative things about him, I finally got peace in my heart!
