Devotion 1 of 2: Ex 21
I think that the law in v.1-6 is important because it’s about a servant who loves his wife and children enough to become a slave for life in order to be with them! Jacob worked for Laban for 7 years to get Leah and 14 years to marry Rachel, and that was an amazing love! But this love even surpasses that love! It shows Christ’s love for us because He became a slave so He could redeem us as His bride! I think it’s a good goal for all men who marry—to love your wife enough to become a slave to God (and to her in a sense) for life!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ex 22
I think the law of giving the firstborn son to God in v.29 is significant because I believe at the beginning, God wanted to make them priests so that Israel would become a nation of priests, with every tribe represented. But because of the golden calf incident, this plan was changed to making only Levi the priestly tribe!
