Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 8
V.11 says, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” We see this verse enacted in a nation right now. The leader of that nation has been accused of many, many crimes, but has managed to delay his trials and penalties for years.
This has resulted in corruption continuing in the administration, cabinet, party politicians, and foreign diplomats appointed by that leader in other nations. That leader is avoided by many countries in negotiations now. Let’s pray for the leaders of today’s nations to follow God!

Devotion 2 of 2: John 8
V.1-11 contains the famous story of the woman caught in adultery. Jesus protected her, revealed the hypocrisy of her accusers and caused them to leave her alone! Their hypocrisy was that they condemned the woman to stoning for being caught in the act of adultery, but let the man escape!
In the USA, the case of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein is similar. Over 1000 women, many minors, were exploited by Epstein to be used as prostitutes for men. While Epstein was arrested, the thousands of men who had sex with minors, which is illegal, have escaped indictment! Let’s pray for justice for women!

米国における人身売買業者ジェフリー・エプスタインの事件もこれに似ている。多くの未成年者を含む1,000人以上の女性たちが、男たちの売春相手としてエプスタインに搾取されたのである。エプスタインは逮捕されたものの、違法である未成年者との性行為に及んだ何千人もの男たちは起訴を免れている。女性たちのために正義がもたらされるよう、祈ろうではないか。
