Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 78
Asaph was a prophetical worship leader under Kings David and Solomon. He wrote Ps 50 and 73-83. In this psalm, in v.1-8, he points out the need for the older generation to pass on to the younger generation the wonderful works of God that they saw.
Then, in v.9-66, he tells the tragic mistakes of Israel’s sins despite God doing miraculous things for them in Egypt, the wilderness and Canaan. Finally, in v.67-72, he concludes that God rejected N. Israel but chose David’s kingdom in Judah. In application to the church, let’s also reject Laodicean Christianity and choose revival!

アサフは、ダビデ王およびソロモン王の時代の預言的ワーシップリーダーであった。彼は詩篇50篇および73-83篇を執筆した。78篇の1-8節に、彼は、上の世代が目撃した神のすばらしいみわざを下の世代に継承する必要性を指摘している。

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Tim 2
In v.8-15, Paul teaches about the relationship between men and women, which mainly applies to husbands and wives. What helps the marriage the most is to have a v.8 kind of husband, one who prays, lives holy, doesn’t get angry and has a strong faith! And if the wife respects and honors her husband, the marriage will be a blessed one!
The Amish people have a 0% divorce rate! How wonderful! But one reason is because they kick out anyone who divorces! Actually, they have marital difficulties just like other people. But they believe their marriage vows are to God, too! This helps them to work hard to make their marriages work. Let us who are married have this commitment to God, too!

8-15節に、パウロは男性と女性の関係について教えているが、これは主に夫と妻に適用される。結婚生活にとって最も助けになるのは、8節にあるような夫、すなわち祈り、きよく生き、怒らず、強い信仰を持つ夫がいることである。そして、妻が夫を敬い、重んじるなら、その結婚生活は祝福されるものとなるだろう。
アーミッシュの人々の離婚率は0％である。これは素晴らしいことである。しかし、理由 の一つは、離婚した者をだれであれ追放するからである。実際、彼らも他の人々と同じように夫婦間の問題を抱えている。しかし、彼らは自らの結婚の誓いが神に対するものでもあると信じているのである。これが、彼らが結婚生活を成立させるために励む助けとなっている。結婚している私たちは、神に対してこの献身を持とうではないか。
