Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 49
The writer of this psalm is speaking wisdom (v.3) about not needing to fear in the days of evil (v.5) when people boast in their riches (v.6). The reason is because all, the wise, the foolish and the rich, will die and leave their wealth to others (v.10).
The lesson is that while in life there may be differences of status, wealth, etc., in death, we all must leave everything behind. That’s why the most important thing in life is not our wealth, but determining where we go after death. Let’s believe in Jesus who gives us eternal life!
Devotion 2 of 2: Gal 1
Paul wrote about half of the NT, and he revealed unbelievably amazing things about God, Jesus, heaven, eternity, Melchizedek, the rapture, the 2nd coming of Christ, etc., that no one else had written about! Where and how did Paul learn those things? And are they true?
Paul reveals in v.11-12 that he received the gospel (and other truths), not from men, but from Jesus Himself. I think there are two places or times that Paul could have gained those insights. One is in Arabia (v.17) and the other is through his NDE (2 Cor 12:2-4), after being stoned in Acts 14:19-20.
