Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 27
V.12 says, “A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; the simple pass on and are punished.” We can exchange the words “prudent” for “wise” and “simple” for “foolish” in this verse and apply it to the LD.
A wise man understands the enigmas of God’s endtime plan hidden in the Word, while the foolish do not. God has shown that the church will be persecuted by AC, so we must “hide” or prepare ourselves for the danger. I believe those who believe in the pre-trib rapture are foolish and will be devastated when persecution begins. Let’s be wise, not foolish!
Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 14
In v.26, Jesus said, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.” What did Jesus mean by saying this?
I know a testimony that illustrates this verse. In Japan, a young woman became a Christian, but her family opposed her faith, beat her terribly and even threatened death, but she wouldn’t let go of Jesus! When they finally slept, she crawled out with her broken body and went to the church. Later, she became a pastor’s wife and was used mightily by God.
