Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 26
V.4 says, “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.” According to Prov 1:5-6, “A wise man…understands…enigmas…” Enigmas are mysteries, parables, God’s plans, etc., so a foolish man would be someone who doesn’t understand enigmas and God’s plans!
Just as God revealed His plans for the Messiah beforehand, so He has revealed His plans for the endtime in the Scriptures. Let’s not say we don’t understand those plans and become foolish, but let’s seek God for wisdom!
Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 13
Jesus called King Herod a fox and said in v.32, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’” I believe Jesus called Herod a fox because He was describing the spirit that controlled him. Sometimes spirits are identified with animals in the Bible.
Also, Jesus spoke prophetically about doing miracles through the church for 2 days, or 2,000 years, and then being perfected on the 3rd day, or the 1,000-year Millennium Kingdom period (2 Pet 3:8). Let’s do miracles in Jesus’ name!
