Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 15
V.22 says, “Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” This verse explains the recent problem of President Trump demolishing the White House’s East Wing to build a new ballroom.
The president did it without seeking counsel from Congress or the National Park Service, who are both responsible for managing government buildings in Washington, D.C. As a result, a federal court judge stopped the construction, and the President’s plans went awry. If he had sought approval from Congress, the results would have been different.

22節はこう言う。「助言がなければ計画は頓挫し、多くの助言者によって計画は成就する。」この御言葉は、最近のトランプ大統領がホワイトハウス東棟を取り壊し、新しい大宴会場を建設しようとした問題を説明する一例である。
大統領は、首都ワシントンの政府庁舎を管理する責任を持つ連邦議会や国立公園局に助言や承認を求めることなく計画を進めた。その結果、連邦裁判所の裁判官が工事の差し止めを命じ、大統領の計画は頓挫した。もし事前に議会の承認を求めていたなら、結果は違ったものになっていたであろう。
Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 2
This chapter shows different people who received revelation that Jesus was the Messiah. First, shepherds were visited by angels in v.8-14. They believed the angels and found the baby, the Savior and Messiah (v.15-20).
Another person was Simeon (v.25-35). The Holy Spirit spoke to him that he would see the Messiah, so when he saw Jesus the babe, he picked the child up and worshiped God! Finally, a prophetess Anna understood redemption would come through Jesus and gave thanks to God (v.36-38). Let’s believe revelation that God gives!

この章には、イエスがメシアであるという啓示を受けたさまざまな人々が登場する。まず、8-14節では羊飼いたちが御使いたちの訪れを受ける。彼らは御使いたちの言葉を信じ、救い主でありメシアである幼子イエスを見つける（15～20節）。
次に、シメオンが登場する（25～35節）。聖霊は彼に、メシアを見るまでは死を見ることはないと告げていた。そのため、幼子イエスを見ると、その子を腕に抱き、神を賛美する。最後に、女預言者アンナは、贖いがイエスを通してもたらされることを悟り、神に感謝する（36～38節）。神が与える啓示を信じ、それに従う者となろう。
