Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 13

DEVOTION 1: DEUT 13
This chapter deals with the severe subject of executing people for trying to lead others to serve different gods. The people who do this may be prophets who can do signs and wonders (v.1-5), or a family member or friend (v.6-11), or any individuals or a whole city (v.12-18), the punishment was the same, death to the guilty.
In the free world today, the above laws are unacceptable because we have freedom of religion. The lesson here is that some Scriptures, especially the OT, do not apply today. Jesus changed a lot of that, but also, culture changes, too.

この章では、異教の神々を崇拝するよう人々を導こうとした者を処刑するという、極めて重大な問題を取り上げています。そのような行為を行った者は、しるしや不思議な業を行う預言者（1-5節）、家族や友人（6-11節）、あるいは都市の住民の1人でも、全員でも（12-18節）、刑罰は皆同じで、有罪者は死刑に処されました。
現代の自由社会では、信教の自由があるため、上記の法律は容認できません。ここから得られる教訓は、聖書、特に旧約聖書の一部は、現代には当てはまらないということです。イエスは多くのことを変えましたが、文化もまた変化していくものです。
Devotion 2 of 2: Deut 14
V.22-29 teach about tithing. At SI, we believe tithing should be a part of our Christian lifestyle. We believe Gen 14 lays down the foundation about why we tithe. God gave us everything we have, our life, family, abilities, job, income, salvation, etc., and He wants us to tithe as a sign that we remember that.
I sold my house and land in Chofu about 4 years ago. I wanted to give a tithe on the profit but wanted to invest and increase it first, so I did. Recently, I cashed in the investment at 70% increase and was able to give the tithe.

22-29節は什一献金について教えています。SIでは、什一献金はクリスチャン生活の一部であるべきだと考えています。創14章は、什一献金を行う理由の基礎を築いていると信じます。神は私たちに、命、家族、能力、仕事、収入、救いなど、あらゆるものを与えてくださいました。そして、そのことを覚えているしるしとして、什一献金を行うことを望んでおられます。
私は約4年前に調布の家と土地を売却しました。売却益から什一献金を捧げたいと思いましたが、まずは投資して増やしたいと考え、そうしました。最近、投資株を70%増加で売却して、什一献金を捧げることができました。神に感謝！
