Devotion 1 of 3: Mark 16
V.9-20 are left out in some modern translations because they are missing from some of the oldest, most reliable Greek manuscripts, indicating they might have been added by scribes to smooth out the sudden ending of v.8. Two of these oldest manuscripts are the Codex Sinai and Codex Vatican, written about 300-360 AD.
The contents of v.9-20 are compatible with the other gospels, so they are reliable. But the reference to taking up serpents and drinking anything deadly in v.18 has been abused by extremists, so they should be treated with care. I believe that the Bible in its original form was totally inspired by the Holy Spirit, but its copies can contain errors made by copiers and scribes.

Devotion 2 of 3: Ps 16
V.8-11 are quoted by Peter in his Day of Pentecost message that resulted in 3000 getting saved (Acts 2:25-28). Led by the Holy Spirit, Peter interpreted the Ps 16 passage to refer to Jesus’ soul going to Sheol, or Hades, the place of the dead, which have 2 compartments, the places of comfort or torment (Luke 16:25).
No doubt, Jesus’ soul went to the place of torment as our substitute to receive the punishment for all our sins. This is the meaning of dying as our substitute! Let’s always thank Jesus for His sacrificial love for us!

Devotion 3 of 3: Acts 1
After His resurrection, Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for the Father’s Promise of the Holy Spirit (v.4). So, they all assembled together in Jerusalem and continued with one accord in prayer (v.14).
They persisted for 10 days until the Day of Pentecost. God answered their prayers with a mighty Holy Spirit revival that changed world history (2:1-4)! This is what we are believing will happen in our time to spark the LDR! Let’s continue from the 1st to the 10th every month from 2130 to 2230 until revival comes!
