Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 14
This psalm fits in well with what God is doing in SI recently. People in the world live in spiritual darkness, unable to see or know God. Some even say in their heart, “There is no God” (v.1)! As a result, many of them live a life without a strong sense of direction or purpose (v.5).
So, God has called SI to reach out to them, especially the international students in the Okubo area. By using Japanese conversation and food fellowship, we can build relationships with them and share Jesus in a sincere way. Let’s pray that many will find a purpose for their life through Christ.
5/21（木）詩14篇（デボーション1）
この詩篇は、SIで最近神がなさっていることとよく合致しています。世の中には、神を見ることも知ることもできない、霊的な闇の中に生きている人々がいます。中には心の中で「神はいない」とさえ言う人もいます（1節）。その結果、多くの人が明確な方向性や目的を見出せずに生きているでしょう（5節）。
そこで、神はSIに、特に大久保地区の留学生たちに手を差し伸べるよう召命を与えられました。日本語での会話や食物を通して、彼らと関係を築き、イエスを心から伝えることができます。多くの人がキリストを通して人生の目的を見いだせるよう祈りましょう。

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 14
This chapter describes the last 2 days of Jesus’ life before His arrest, trial and crucifixion. The chief priests plotted when they would kill Jesus. V.1-2 say, “After two days it was the Passover... And the chief priests…sought how they might…put Him to death. But they said, ‘Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.’”
The chief priests wanted to wait till after the Passover, but God’s plan was for Jesus to die at the same time as the Passover lamb during the Passover Feast, so that’s how it happened! God’s will supersedes man’s!

この章では、イエスが逮捕され、十字架につけられる直前の二日間を描いています。祭司長たちはイエスをいつ殺すかを企てました。1-2節にはこうあります。「過越の祭り･･･が二日後に迫っていた。祭司長たち･･･は、イエスをだまして捕らえ、殺すための良い方法を探していた。彼らは、『祭りの間はやめておこう。民が騒ぎを起こすといけない』と話していた。」
祭司長たちは過越祭が終わるまで待とうと企てましたが、神の計画はイエスが過越祭の最中に、小羊と共に死ぬことでした。そして、その通りになったのです！神の意志は人間の意志に勝るのです！
