Devotion 1 of 3: Lev 14
This chapter shows a leper’s cleansing ritual in v.1-32. This is a parable of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection to cleanse us from sin. Two clean birds were used. One was killed in an earthen vessel over running water (v.4-5). This represents Jesus’ bodily death with water and blood flowing from His side (John 19:34).
The other bird was dipped in the 1st bird’s blood, together with cedar wood, scarlet and hyssop, and then let loose (v.6-7). This symbolizes Jesus shedding His blood on the cross, drinking sour wine by a hyssop (John 19:29), dying, then resurrecting!

Devotion 2 of 3: Acts 14
This chapter describes events in Asia Minor during Paul’s 1st missionary journey. Paul and Barnabas healed a man crippled from birth in Lystra, causing such excitement that the people wanted to worship them, but Paul stopped them (v.8-18). Then Jews who opposed their teaching persuaded the people to stone Paul (v.19)!
In just a few days, the people changed from wanting to worship Paul to stoning him! This is what happened to Jesus, too! God mercifully raised Paul from the dead (v.19-20), and from 2 Cor 12:2-4, we know he had an NDE!

Devotion 3 of 3: Matt 28
This chapter describes the resurrection of Jesus (v.1-15) and His Great Commission to the disciples (v.16-20). One reason why the disciples could take the gospel to the world was because of the certainty of Jesus’ resurrection! If Jesus had not resurrected, they would never have been able to do the Great Commission!
In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded us to make disciples! In Mark, He commanded that we preach the gospel. But we are not only to lead people to Christ, we are also to disciple them! Lord, help us to disciple!
