Devotion 1 of 3: Lev 13
This chapter explains the laws concerning leprosy. “Leprosy” has been translated to other terms, like: defiling or dreaded skin disease, sores, boils, skin rash, etc. I think these translations are good, but I still like “leprosy” because it evokes serious dread, which conveys the true nature of sin more than other terms.
Leprosy appears on the skin as swelling or scabs or bright spots (v.2). = Sin appears through our outward actions. But leprosy is deeper than the skin (v.3). = Sinful actions are caused by inner evil. Let’s repent of our sins!

この章では、ツァラアト（らい病）に関する律法について説明します。「らい病」は、「ツァラアト」「汚れた皮膚病」「腫れ物」「おでき」「皮膚の発疹」など、様々な言葉で訳されてきました。これらの訳も良いと思いますが、私はやはり「らい病」という言葉が好きです。なぜなら、この言葉は深い恐怖感を呼び起こし、他の言葉よりも罪の本質をよりよく伝えているからです。
らい病は、皮膚に腫れやかさぶた、あるいは光る斑点として現れます（2節）。つまり、罪は外面的な行いを通して現れます。しかし、らい病は皮膚よりも深いところにあります（3節）。つまり、罪の行いは内なる悪によって引き起こされるのです。罪を悔い改めましょう！

Devotion 2 of 3: Acts 13
I feel like SI is going through Acts 13 now because: 1) Antioch Church sent out an evangelistic team (v.1-3). SI is beginning evangelism through our Japanese conversation club! 2) Paul converted a Roman proconsul in v.4-12, and when Jews rejected the gospel in v.44-45, he turned to Gentiles in v.46-48. SI is reaching foreigners, too!
What is wonderful is how God moved through Paul and Barnabas’ evangelism! V.48-49 say, “As many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.”

SIは今、使徒13章をまさに経験しているように感じます。なぜなら、1) アンテオケ教会が伝道チームを派遣した（1-3節）。SIも日本語会話クラブを通して伝道を始めているからです！ 2) パウロは4-12節でローマ総督を改宗させ、44-45節でユダヤ人が福音を拒絶すると、46-48節で異邦人に福音を伝えました。SIも外国人に福音を伝えているのです！
素晴らしいのは、その後の神の御業です！「異邦人たちは、それを聞いて喜び･･･永遠のいのちに定められていた人たちは、みな、信仰に入った。こうして、主のみことばは、この地方全体に広まった」（48-49節）。主が大久保でも働くと信じます。

Devotion 3 of 3: Matt 27
When Jesus died on the cross, the veil in the temple was torn, an earthquake hit, rocks were split and many OT saints rose from the grave, went into Jerusalem and appeared to many (v.51-53)! The effect of all this was that a centurion and many others saw what happened, feared greatly and declared Jesus was the Son of God (v.54)!
The resurrected OT saints were taken to heaven by Jesus soon after He rose from the dead 3 days later. But many people saw them, leaving an impact that no doubt resulted in the 3000 saved 50 days later in Acts 2!
4/4（土）マタイ27:45-66 （デボーション3）
イエスが十字架上で亡くなると、神殿の幕が裂け、地震が起こり、岩が割れ、旧約時代の多くの聖徒たちが墓からよみがえり、エルサレムに入り、多くの人々の前に現れました（51-53節）。この出来事を目撃した百人隊長をはじめとする多くの人々は、恐れおののき、イエスは神の子であると宣言したのです（54節）。
復活した旧約の聖徒たちは、イエスが3日後に死からよみがえった後、すぐに天に引き上げられました。しかし、多くの人々が彼らを目撃し、その影響は、50日後に使徒2章で3千人が救われるという出来事につながったことは間違いありません。
