Devotion 1 of 2: Job 41
God talks about 2 strange animals in chapters 40 and 41 – behemoth (40:15-24) and Leviathan (41:1-34). Many Bible scholars have guessed about what animals they represent, like hippopotamus, crocodile, elephant, whale, dinosaur, dragon, etc., but there are always some verses that don’t fit.
My guess is that they may be composites of various animals made into 2 symbolic creatures. I think they are in Job to show how God is ruler over even powerful, mythological beasts! So, let’s recognize Him as the Almighty One!

Devotion 2 of 2: Job 42
This last chapter of Job shows his restoration, just as the last days will be the time for the restoration of the church and of Israel to be completed. The conditions of Job’s restoration were recognizing his shortcomings (v.1-6), forgiving his 3 friends (v.7-8) and praying for them (v.10). These 3 will be necessary for the church’s restoration, too!
The wonderful thing about Job’s restoration was that he received twice as much as what he had before (v.10)! God has also promised to give the LDC the double portion (Heb 12:22-23, Hag 2:9)! Let’s believe for full restoration.
