Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 19
This chapter describes the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This is a picture of the disasters that will destroy much of the planet during the 2nd half of the tribulation (T2). Sodom’s homosexual lifestyle was a cause of its destruction (v.5, 13). Likewise, today’s spread of gay rights will be one cause of the end of this world system.
Lot and his family are a type of 30-fold believers. They were saved from Sodom’s destruction, but when Lot’s wife looked back, she became a pillar of salt (v.22-26). God will protect His people in the endtime also, through the rapture or through miraculous deliverances!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 20
In this chapter Abraham gains much livestock and wealth through the courage and obedience of Sarah! He tells her to say she is his sister. If she had said Abraham was her husband, he would likely have been killed and Sarah taken (v.2, 10-12). It was from this episode that Sarah became the model of an obedient wife (1 Pet 3:1-7).
When Abraham and Sarah journeyed into King Abimelech’s kingdom, Abimelech took Sarah as his wife, not knowing she was Abraham’s wife! But God protected Sarah from the adultery because of her faith! Let’s aim for wonderful marriage relationships!

この章では、アブラハムはサラの勇気と従順さを通して、多くの家畜と富を得ました！サラは妹だと名乗るように言われます。もしサラがアブラハムを夫だと名乗っていたら、アブラハムは殺され、サラは連れ去られていたでしょう（2節、10-12節）。このエピソードから、サラは従順な妻の模範となったのです（ペトロの手紙一3章1-7節）。
アブラハムとサラがアビメレク王の王国へ旅立ったとき、アビメレクはサラがアブラハムの妻であることを知らずに妻に迎えました。しかし、神はサラの信仰ゆえに、姦淫の罪から彼女を守られました！素晴らしい夫婦関係を目指しましょう！
