Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 11
Shinar, where man built the Tower of Babel, is located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, in present-day Iraq. God said because the people were one, they could do anything they wanted to do (v.6), so He disrupted their unity and scattered them by confusing their language, meaning He made them speak in different languages.
This story shows the power of unity, which is the contents of our key verses for 2026, John 17:22-23, “…that they may be one!” Let’s be a church of unity so we can do great things for God’s kingdom this year!

人間がバベルの塔を建てたシナルは、ティグリス川とユーフラテス川の間、現在のイラクに位置しています。神は、民が一つであるがゆえに、彼らは望むことを何でもできると言われました(6節)。しかし神は、彼らの言語を混乱させることによって、彼らの一致を乱し、散らされました。つまり、異なる言語を話させられることになったのです。
この物語は一致の力を示しており、2026年の私たちの鍵の御言葉であるヨハネ17:22-23には、「…彼らが一つとなるため！」とあります。今年、神の国のために偉大なことを成し遂げることができるように、一致の教会となりましょう。

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 12
God made a promise to Abraham in v.1-3, telling him to leave his country and father’s house, go to a land that God would show him, and, if he did, God would make him a great nation, a blessing to all the earth!
In Christ, we are Abraham’s seed and heirs of God’s promise to him (Gal 3:29)! We also are called to leave our country’s religions and our family’s traditions (that are contrary to Scripture), and join the LDC, and if we do, God will make us into a great church and use us to bless Japan! Let’s fulfill our calling as Abraham’s seed in Japan!

神は1-3節でアブラハムに約束をされました。彼は自分の国と父の家を離れ、神が示す地に行くなら、神は彼を大いなる国民とし、地上の全ての民族を祝福する者にならせる、と。
キリストにあって、私たちはアブラハムの子孫であり、神が与えた約束の相続人です（ガラ3:29）。私たちも、自分の国の宗教や家族の伝統（聖書に反するなら！）を捨て、終末教会に加わるように召されています。もしそうするなら、神は私たちを偉大な教会とし、日本を祝福するために用いてくださいます。日本でアブラハムの子孫としての召しを果たそうではありませんか。
