Devotion 1 of 2: Nah 3

This chapter declares God’s judgment upon Nineveh and the Assyrian Empire. In v.10, God said what happened to No Amon (ancient Egyptian city of Thebes), would happen to Nineveh, too. In other words, Nineveh’s people would be taken captive, and her children would be dashed to pieces!
Some of the reasons for Nineveh’s judgment (v.1-4) were that she was a bloody city (fought many wars), many wars were based on lies, she killed countless multitudes, she robbed her victim nations, and she spread her idolatry (harlotry), destroying nations and families by using temple prostitution.
Assyria had the same spirit as Babylon, which appears in Rev 14-19 as AC’s capital city. One reason their spirits were one is because their origin is the same, Iraq. Let’s know this: Babylon of the LD will fall as Assyria did!

Devotion 2 of 2: Col 4

Let’s take a look at some of Paul’s companions from this chapter. Tychicus (v.7) was a faithful minister. Onesimus (v.9) was also faithful because Paul saved him out of a hopeless situation in prison (Philemon 10)!
Aristarchus and Mark (v.10) were a contrast. The former was a prisoner with Paul, while Mark was not. In fact, Mark once left Paul’s mission team because it was too hard for him (Acts 13:13; 15:36-40). Yet, they worked with each other. But Paul had to remind the Colossians to welcome John despite what happened in the past!
Epaphras (v.12) was a fervent prayer warrior, so valuable as a worker! Luke and Demas (v.14) were also a contrast. Luke was a doctor, an elite in society, and so faithful he was chosen by God to write 2 NT books, while Demas later forsook Paul for the world (2 Tim 4:10)! Finally, Nymphas (v.15) was a house pastor!
