Devotion 1 of 2: Lam 1

This chapter describes the fall of Jerusalem from princess to slave (v.1). Her people have been taken captive (v.3). The reason for her desolation is the multitude of her transgressions, her grave sins, her uncleanness (v.5, 8-9). Her temple was destroyed, and pagans entered and defiled its sanctuary (v.10).
But Jerusalem realizes it was the Lord who inflicted His anger, made her desolate, delivered her to her enemies and trampled her men and women as in a winepress (v.12-15)! Jerusalem recognizes she rebelled against the Lord’s commandment (v.18, 20) because she was deceived by her pagan idols (lovers) (v.19).
In the end, she wishes her enemies become like her and asks God to do to them as He has done to her (v.21-22). Endtime application: Let’s pray for Christians who will be deceived by AC to repent and return to the Lord!

Devotion 2 of 2: James 2

V.26 says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” This verse primarily refers to faith and works concerning salvation. But I believe it can also apply to the LDR. Jesus said in John 14:12 that if we believe, we would do His works and even greater works! I believe this will be fulfilled in the LDR.
But most Christians don’t believe they can do Jesus’ works, much less, greater works! Before the LDR comes, it may be permissible to think that way, but when the LDR happens, many Christians will be doing Jesus works of healing, delivering and feeding people miraculously!
At that time, if we don’t jump in and believe and do Jesus’ works, our faith will be dead, not stepping up to the challenge, not fulfilling its calling of resisting AC’s persecution and saving the world! Let’s have live faith!
