Devotion 1 of 2: Neh 9
In v.5-38, the Levites reviewed the history of Israel from Abraham receiving Canaan from God, then the Jews moving to Egypt, being enslaved, delivered, journeying through the wilderness, and retaking Canaan. The history of the judges, kings, captivity, to the present, restored to the land, but distressed under foreign kings, is also added.
At the end, the Jews made a new covenant to God, which is detailed in the next chapter.
Endtime application: The story of Israel’s journey from Egypt through the wilderness to Canaan is repeated countless times in the Bible. One reason is because its message is so important! It’s a parable of how God is restoring the church to become a powerful, glorious church that will bring revival to the whole world in the endtime!
Let’s all study the climax of world history, God’s plan for the restoration of the church, so we can share it with others!

Devotion 2 of 2: Neh 10
This chapter covers the covenant that the Jews sealed with God. This showed their repentance and willingness to obey the Lord. The people who sealed the covenant are listed in v.1-29.
The contents of the covenant, which stressed obeying God’s law, are described in v.30-39. They show how sincere Israel was in not wanting to repeat the mistakes of their past. Let’s also be sincere to obey God. He knows when we are not sincere.
