Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 12

Let’s look at the message of v.1: “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.” This is true for students receiving instruction from teachers, but it’s also true for teachers who should be receiving instruction from other teachers or the principal above them!
In a democracy, national leaders are usually willing to listen to advice and instruction from their cabinet and national security advisers so they can make wise decisions that don’t fail before the world and embarrass their country.
But an authoritative leader disdains correction and tries to control his own, as well as other nations. This usually causes other countries to criticize him and damages the reputation of his nation. Now, my country is being avoided by tourists because of the actions of our leader. Let’s pray that he will be willing to listen to instruction and correction so the free world can be united to oppose authoritarian regimes that oppress their people and work together more effectively to promote democratic values.

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 12

Let’s look at one endtime teaching. Will Jesus come at hour we do not expect (v.40)? No! He will come when we expect! Why? Peter asked Jesus if parable was for disciples or all people (v.41). Not disciples but all people!
In v.42-48, Jesus divided believers into 3 groups, 1st, faithful, wise steward, who gave household right food (endtime teaching!) in due season (v.42-44)! So, he understood endtime and when Jesus would return!
2nd, unfaithful and foolish steward, who didn’t know when master would come. He beat servants (betrayed others), became drunk (compromised to AC), and appointed portion with unbelievers (not raptured but entered great tribulation) and suffered same fate as AC (v.45-47)!
3rd, sincere steward who didn’t know, so deserved stripes, but only few (v.48). Sincere Christians who didn’t know when Christ would come, so not raptured at midtrib, but repented and were martyred by AC without going through lots of horrible calamities of the tribulation.
