Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 1
We begin reading Proverbs from today. Proverbs, like the whole Bible, is a book of enigmas, riddles and words of the wise (v.6). Let’s seek to be the wise man of v.5 and hear and increase in learning, understanding and attain wise counsel!

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 1
We start the gospel of Luke today. The author, Luke, was a Gentile, very possibly Greek, physician. He thought in a logical, orderly fashion and tried to write his gospel that way, so that Gentiles would be persuaded that this account of Jesus was certain and accurate (v.1-4).
Lesson: Believing in Jesus doesn’t mean we need to throw away our intellect and logic. In fact, the great commandment tells us to love God with all our mind 3 times (Matt 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27)! Let’s be spiritual and intellectual at the same time!
