Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 17
This chapter describes the reign of Jehoshaphat of Judah. We should remember him because he was one of only 8 good kings out of the 20 kings of Judah. There were no good kings among the 19 kings of northern Israel.
Jehoshaphat walked in the ways of David and did not seek the Baals (v.3). The fear of the Lord fell on other nations, and they didn’t want to war against Judah (v.10).

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 18
This chapter describes Judah joining northern Israel’s war against Syria and their being defeated. King Jehoshaphat of Judah is very naïve; King Ahab of Israel is very cunning and manipulative (v.29). God protects Jehoshaphat from being attacked, but Ahab is killed despite his conniving (v.31-34).
