Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 26

Chapters 26-28 contain amazing prophecies about Tyre, an important port city on the Mediterranean Sea, which is now located in modern Lebanon. Tyre was ruled by King Hiram in Solomon’s time. Hiram worked closely with Solomon to provide much of the materials needed for the construction of Solomon’s Temple (1 Ki 5:8-10).
But when Jerusalem was destroyed, Tyre rejoiced, thinking she would prosper more (v.2). So, God judged Tyre for her sins. He said many nations would attack Tyre (v.3). This was fulfilled by Babylon, Greece, Rome, Muslims and Crusaders attacking the port city!
Details of how Babylon would defeat Tyre (v.7-14) all came to pass exactly as God prophesied! In the end Tyre was never rebuilt and became a place where fishermen spread their nets. Today Tyre is no more and has become a place for fishing nets!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 26

The disciples failed many times before Jesus’ crucifixion. Let’s take a look and find out why. In v.2, Jesus told his disciples, He would be crucified during the Passover! But they didn’t understand! Then in v.6-13, Mary anointed Jesus with very costly alabaster for His burial, but the disciples thought it was a waste!
In v.20-25, at the Last Supper, Jesus reveals that Judas will betray Him, but the disciples doubt themselves rather than Judas! At the Mt. of Olives, Jesus further reveals the disciples would all stumble that night, but they all deny it, especially Peter (v.31-35)!
At Gethsemane, the disciples can’t stay awake and pray (v.36-46)! When Jesus was arrested, Peter tried to rescue Jesus with his sword, but Jesus rebuked him, so Peter stumbled, and he and the others fled (v.47-56). Finally, Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 times (v.69-75)!
The reason why the disciples failed was because they didn’t understand God’s plan for Jesus’ crucifixion! They thought it was bad and tried to stop it, but Jesus stopped them, so they got confused and finally gave up and fled! This shows the importance of understanding God’s will so we don’t stumble. This applies to God’s endtime plan of revival, too!
