Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 19
This chapter has 2 parables of Judah, 2 of her kings, and their eventual captivity in Egypt and Babylon (v.1-9). In the 1st parable, Judah is symbolized by a lioness and 2 of her cubs symbolize the Kings Jehoahaz (v.1-4) and Jehoiachin (v.5-9). Jehoahaz was taken captive to Egypt and Jehoiachin to Babylon.
In the 2nd parable, Judah is symbolized by a vine that flourished at first, but later was cast down and planted in the wilderness (v.10-13). This describes Judah’s golden age, followed by the disaster of defeat and captivity to Babylon.
Let’s not forget that Judah was restored after 70 years of captivity. Let’s pray for modern Israel also to be completely restored to God in the endtime.
Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 19
Let’s look at v.21-22. Jesus told the rich man who was seeking eternal life to sell his possessions, give it to the poor and follow Him! Jesus had a very good reason for requiring this, but normally we don’t tell people to do this to get saved!
But in the endtime, doing it would make a lot of sense. Christians will be persecuted by AC, and if we don’t take AC’s mark, we can’t buy or sell, so money will have no value to us. So, if we can sell our possessions and give the money to help the poor, the money can be put to good use!
This is what happened in the early church! Because God knew Rome would destroy Jerusalem and sell believers as slaves, and their property and money would become useless, He led them to sell their lands and give the money to those in need (Acts 4:34-35).
In the last days, let’s be willing to sell all we have, give to those in need, and work for revival in Japan!
